At Birdies with Purpose, we believe golf is more than a sport. It is a powerful platform to shape character, create opportunity, and impact lives in meaningful and lasting ways.

What began as an effort to support nonprofits through charity golf tournaments has evolved into a broader mission. Today, Birdies with Purpose uses golf as a vehicle to empower kids, strengthen communities, and develop confident, capable young people through intentional programming and access.

Our Heart
Birdies with Purpose was born from a deeply personal place. Our founder, Chris Sessions, is a nonprofit strategist and a proud father to a daughter with special needs. Throughout his family’s journey, they were supported by organizations that offered more than services. They provided dignity, encouragement, and a sense of belonging during some of life’s most challenging seasons.

That experience sparked a calling to give back and to help nonprofits grow, thrive, and reach more families in need. But over time, the vision expanded.
​
During a simple walk with his wife, a new question emerged. What if we created something specifically for kids? Something free, intentional, and meaningful. A space where golf was not the end goal, but the starting point for confidence, connection, and growth.

That question became the foundation for what Birdies with Purpose is today.
​Enter: "Birdie Day"
Birdie Day is our flagship youth golf experience—a completely free, one-day camp for kids ages 7–18 that combines professional instruction with life-changing enrichment.

Campers rotate through fun and educational breakout sessions focused on:

Fitness, stretching, and mental health

Financial literacy and career exploration

Character development and leadership

And of course—free gear, clubs, and plenty of smiles​

Vision Statement
Birdies with Purpose envisions a world where every child, regardless of background or circumstance, has access to opportunity, mentorship, and life-shaping experiences through the game of golf.
Through the growth of the Birdies with Purpose Earn Your Birdie Academy, we aim to expand our impact nationally and globally by creating sustainable programs that develop confident, capable young people and strengthen the communities they belong to.

Our vision is to build a scalable Academy model that partners with organizations around the world to remove barriers, foster belonging, and equip the next generation with character, resilience, and purpose that extend far beyond the course.

Chris Sessions
Birdies with Purpose exists because I have seen firsthand what happens when a child is given opportunity, support, and a place where they truly belong.
My daughter Ava was born with special needs, and the impact that caring organizations and mentors have had on her life changed the way I see the world. They did more than provide services. They gave her confidence, dignity, and the chance to grow into who she is meant to be. That experience reshaped my purpose and ultimately led to the creation of Birdies with Purpose.

Golf became the platform because it teaches far more than how to swing a club. It teaches patience, accountability, resilience, and respect. Through the Earn Your Birdie Academy, we are creating spaces where kids are supported, encouraged, and challenged to grow as people.
This work is not about creating golfers. It is about developing confident, capable humans who believe in themselves and understand their value. Every child deserves access to opportunity and every child deserves someone who believes in them. That belief is what drives everything we do.
